Post by Serafina Heathcliff on Jun 15, 2010 23:50:12 GMT -5
OOC Name: Nubia Character Name: Serafina Isobel Heathcliff House: Hufflepuff Year: seventh Sample: It was late at night when Serafina snuck into the kitchens. She tends to get hungry at that time, her hufflepuff friends would make fun of her because of it. She couldn't help it, Serausually gets cravings for hot chocolate or whatever the elves had left from dinner. Which it had seemed Serafina missed from a slightly long nap she had taken earlier.
"This is some real good food, as always Gense." Serafina said gratefully to the house elf. Almost every house elf here seemed always willing to please. But Sera had more of a liking toward Gense. Hearing a noise, turning she sees the painting open. Well she didn't expect Jason, yes Sera know who he is. Everyone, well almost everyone knows who he is. Many like her, know by rumors or seen him in her class. She had never talked to people anyway. Sera never had the ability to converse with people she never have meet before. They would have to come to her, and talk first. Even when she had the guts to go to someone, they would have keep the conversation going.
"Oh, wow its you too." She said rolling her eyes. Maybe the sarcasm didn't help either but that is something her friend had told her was her best quality.

Post by Charlotte Burke on Jun 22, 2010 2:07:07 GMT -5
OOC Name: Leigha/ Brooke (I'm not picky, I go by either!) Character Name: Charlotte Christine Burke House: Gryffindor Year: Sixth Sample:Charlie Burke was bored with sitting inside all the time, just because it was winter time and freezing cold outside. All she'dbeen doing was going to classes, doing her homework, and venturing outside every now and then to take little walks around before she felt as though her face were going to fall off from the extreme cold. But now...now she had to say that she didn't really care. She was about ready to climb the walls, she was bored out of her God-given mind, and she had started to fidget as well. She knew she needed to get out when this happened, so she decided to venture outside and brave the cold for the sake of her sanity. She ran up to her dorm room and bundled up, putting multiple layers on, and draped a scarf over her neck. She pulled a wool cap over her head, bring it down over her ears, and slid on her pair of sturdy snow boots and her mittens before heading out. She was sure she was a sight to see, walking down the halls. She was probably waddling with all of the extra clothing, but she could care less. With a smile on her face, she made her way down to the Entrance Hall and pushed her way outside.
As soon as she was met with the cold blast of air, she brought her scarf up and wrapped it around the lower half of her face, hoping that it held off the numbness that was sure to set in after a while. She crunched through the snow, happy to be out of the confines of the castle, but looking for something a little more...reckless. Her gaze immediately went to the forest and she smiled a slow smile before heading in that direction. It had been a while since she had last ventured in there, and she would bet that it was a little warmer in there, seeing as wind could hardly get through the thick cluster of trees along the perimeter. Boy, oh, boy, if her brothers had been with her they certainly would have stopped her. It wasn't as if they didn't do reckless things; they did, and all the time. But they thought that, because they were boys they were invincible. And Charlie had spent so much time trying to prove to them that she could stand up there with them, and do all the things that they did. Somehow, though, they saw her as a girlie-girl. Wrinkling her nose at the thought, she glanced up at the tall canopy of trees as she stepped just a little ways inside. Already, she could feel the difference in temperature. It was still cold, but the wind wasn't whipping her in the face and making her eyes water. She glanced back at the castle before taking another step inside, and instead of hearing the snow crunch, she could hear dead leaves and twigs. She made her way deeper into the forest, climbing over fallen trees and side-stepping creeping tree roots that seemed to be set on making her trip. She walked until she reached a small clearing, and she stood in the very middle and looked straight up. She could hear the wind whistle as it tried to squeeze through the canopy, but to no avail. Charlie let out a sigh and was able to see her breath fog out in front of her. She breathed again, just to watch it puff out and vanish instantly, but stopped cold when she heard a twig snap near by. Charlie wasn't usually a fearful person, and sure, she had wanted an adventure and yes she wanted to be able to tell her brothers that she had gone in unafraid, but hearing that in the dead silence made her blood run cold. She did a slow circle, but could see nothing, mainly because as the forest got deeper, it got darker. She held her breath and waited, hoping that the thing that had made the twig snap wasn't going to pounce and send her to her early grave.

OOC Name:Anna Character Name: Braelyn Havencroft House: Slytherin Year: Sixth Sample:(I actually found an HP sample! xD)
The neatly rolled letter crumpled in Sirius' hand. It wasn't out of fear, or worry that he did as much, but anger. Although he had cut all ties with his family years ago, he had never really had much against his brother, Regulus. All the same, Regulus had never really shunned Sirius like the rest of the family...Perhaps it was because they had been at school together, and therefore unable to get away from each other, but as it were...He still owed a sense of duty to Regulus.
Growling darkly, Sirius uncrumpled the letter again, scanning it over quickly again. "Can't go to Hogwarts or the Ministry... Bloody hell, what has the blighter gotten into this time?" Sirius cursed, standing to pace the small confines of his living room. Who the hell was he supposed to go to then? James was almost entierly out of question...Damn he couldn't believe he'd been stupid enough to fall in love with that red haired vixen Lily Evans. She was a pain in the arse she was, and muddling his best mate's head. No, he couldn't go to James with this, he was to soft.
But that still raised the question as to who he should go to. Frowning, Sirius sank down into his chair, crumpling the letter again. Who would help him...Who could he persuade or force to help him? There were few from Hogwarts that actually liked him, and few that he actually helped. He had made himself an enemy of just about everyone he could and thoroughly enjoyed it. He still did. There was always a happy thrill in knowing exactly how to push certain people's buttons.
And that's when in hit him. Perhaps it wasn't about finding someone who enjoyed his company, but someone who didn't. A sly smirk slid over Sirius face as he flicked his shaggy black hair from his face. "Oh Snivellus... You slimy, greasy git, how I missed you and that nose of yours." A cackle rang through out the room, Sirius' outlook on this whole matter improving greatly. Unfortunately, he was now face with the daunting task of finding the git.
"Bloody hell..." Huffing, he dropped down into the chair again, sprawling out and staring at his empty fire grate. Where was Lupin when you needed him most? He had always been the brains of the group, good at coming up with ideas...And the James. James was the next best. Until that Vix---...."Of course!" Blimey he was dense. Lily bloody Evans was the key to all of this. Stuffing the crumpled letter into a pocket, he tugged on his letter jacked before apparating on the spot, landing smack dab on the vixen's door step, knocking smartly on the door.

Post by Alastor Moody on Jul 6, 2010 0:19:24 GMT -5
OOC Name:Matt Character Name:Alastor Moody House:Gryffindor Year:7th Sample:
The sun had just completed it's slow journey to the peak of the bright blue sky over Hogwarts. As the huge doors that led into the ancient school opened, Alastor Moody emerged slowly his light brown locks almost sparkling in the afternoon light. His hawk-like blue eyes scanned the grounds of Hogwarts, watching each of the students as they went about their daily business, he was as usual practicing for the day when he graduated from Hogwarts and went on to become an Auror like his father. Slowly moving down the steps, his eyes alert for any signs of strange activity he continued onward on his path towards the Pitch.
It never hurt to get some flying practice in before beater tryouts began. Shaking his head slowly as he could see some Slytherins picking on a younger Ravenclaw, he quickly turned and pulled his wand out, "Stupefy!" As the red bolt leaped from his wand, it thudded solidly against the oldest Slytherin's chest causing him to crumple instantly. As the other two Slytherin kids turned on him, the younger Ravenclaw used the opportunity to hit one with a Jelly-Legs Jinx, the other boy sent a Body-Bind Curse towards Alastor who dropped to the floor and jabbed his wand out towards the Slytherin student. "Incarcerous!" As the ropes flew from his wand, the Slytherin attempted to dodge the ropes and was hit in the back by a Stunning Charm from the Ravenclaw boy.
With a wink and a nod, Alastor turned and hurried away from the squabble before any Professor's decided Alastor did more than just help out a poor little Ravenclaw. As the pitch came into view, Alastor grinned and quickly entered, grabbing his broom from his locker as he finally entered. Standing in the middle of the Pitch, he turned and smiled at the large arena around him, there was very little as satisfying as a crowd of roaring fans. Grinning nearly from ear to ear, he hopped on his broom and soared off into the sky above the Pitch, it was definitely time for some practice.
